Hi, I'm Teresa!
Personal Philosophy
Hello! I approach therapy as a human first, bringing compassion and transparency to the process. I don't believe in magic "fixes," but I do believe in the power of meaningful collaboration. My personal experiences with therapy and therapeutic practices have been healing and hopeful, and led me to study mental health in a professional capacity. I find deep meaning in collaborating with others who are looking for change in their lives. People who no longer want to be held back by what the past, culture, or norms say should be, but instead want to live through their most authentic expressions of self.
Professional Background
I have been in the social work field for over 10 years and got my master's degree in social work from Saint Louis University (SLU). I have a wide range of clinical experience, mostly working with relational healing from complex trauma, including:
Supporting children witnessing domestic violence at home (education groups, support groups)
Courtroom and first-response services for those experiencing domestic violence and/or stalking
Individual and group therapy for complex trauma at a St. Louis non-profit organization
Developing and leading specialized group therapy curricula (some examples of groups I co-led: sexual intimacy after trauma, LGBTQ+ trauma recovery, and domestic/sexual violence recovery)
My private practice is built on the belief in your innate capacity to cultivate resilience, joy, and power. The majority of my clients are working on dismantling dysfunctional familial patterns, identifying and healing from traumatic wounds, and/or finding new ways to manage anxiety. My therapy space is warm, collaborative, and dedicated to helping you break intergenerational cycles and reclaim a sense of agency in your life.
You are welcome here, and you are worthy of receiving support!

Teresa Outside the Office
Outside of my therapy practice, I am dedicated to maintaining my own balance and joy! At home, I have a husband, two dogs, Copper (my 70-pound lap dog), and Korra (a fiercely loyal goofball), and a baby on the way. When I'm not geeking out about neuroscience or absorbed in a good book, you can find me cooking, exploring the outdoors, or on my mat practicing yoga. My current dishes on rotation are homemade pesto pasta and red bean chili!
